Peru Remains Loyal

Description

Okay, finally putting up a real description for this map. So, basically the POD is more something of a trend, namely that the Bourbon reforms in Spain result in the Vice-Royality of Peru getting a second port, namely Buenos Aires (Lima was before that the sole port which allowed foreign vessels). This leads to no creation of the Vice-Royality of La Plata and thus no indepedent Argentina.

The world now is quite interesting in the Chinese sense: Russia, Great Britain, Spain and France are the four main powers, with Germany, Denmark, the American Union (dark grey) and Portugal being major ones.

Spain and Britain dominate the Americas when it comes to colonial reign. The US, never coming into being, is replaced by the somewhat weak American Union, the Federal Republic of Columbia and the United Provinces of New England. Mexico had a rough past with multiple civil wars (e.g. leading to renewed Spanish control over Tejas). In South America the Spaniards and the Brits dominate, with the latter mostly economically. The Mukuaguay Federation (maroon-ish) is suprisingly wealthy for its small size, Brazil had good relations to Portugal, even though they still share a border.

Europe is divided, with the Balkans being the usual powder keg and Prussia-Poland being the most hated Central European state (the Russians and the Germans hate their guts in a very extreme way, Britain and France have mixed feelings). Hungary is also a center of absolutism. Russia is very much involved in Asia, trying to snatch up as much territory as possible in the currently dying Qing Empire. The Ottomans are surprisingly fine, though Egypt, Albania, the Dervish region and Bulgaria are only nominally part of their empire and Serbia is getting ambitious. In Africa the British might be the dominant power, but the other European powers also have excessive holdings, such as the Danish-controled Congo Free State and French North Africa. However the Malagasy, the Bornu and Ethiopia have managed to escape European ambitions.

In Asia the Durrani Empire survived the sands of time, the while Thais are busy keeping the Europeans at bay, somewhat successfully at the moment. India is mostly a British deal, however France still controls a very lucrative strip near Orissa. Germany, Britain and Spain have divived the Pacific between them.
